Border Edging Calculator — Decorative Edging

Ornamental terracotta or concrete tiles, typically 460mm long with decorative tops.

Dig a narrow trench, set pieces at desired height, backfill with soil or sand.

Short pieces follow gentle curves. For tight curves use shorter pieces.

Stone or brick edging is the most durable and lasts decades. Victoriana-style metal edging is also very long-lasting. Plastic log roll is cheapest but degrades in UV light.

Flexible steel or plastic edging bends easily around curves. For brick or stone, cut shorter pieces and angle them. Mark the curve with a hosepipe before starting.
